چکیده

As shown in Fig. 1, we have measured the spectral sensitivity functions for 28 cameras, including professional DSLRs, point-and-shoot, industrial and mobile cameras (i.e.Nokia N900), using a monochromator and a spectrometer PR655. At each wavelength, the camera spectral sensitivity in RGB channels is calculated by c(λ) = d(λ)/(r(λ) · t(λ)), where d is the raw data recorded by the camera, r is the illuminant radiance measured by the spectrometer, and t is the exposure time of the camera. All other settings (i.e., ISO and aperture) remained the same during the measurement for each camera. The procedure is repeated across the whole visible wavelength from 400 to 720nm with an interval of 10nm.

Calculation of the Color-Matching Functions of Digital Cameras from their Complete Spectral Responsitivities

©2002, IS&T—The Society for Imaging Science and Technology initial processing stages, any digital image capture device is an additive color reproduction system because the optoelectronic sensor captures or sums photons. Therefore its raw spectral sensitivities must all be positive.6–8 However, when the raw RGB space is electronically varied, the resulting spectral sensitivities may have negativ...

Matrix Calculations for Digital Photography

Different digital cameras have different spectral sensitivities and opto-electronic conversion functions (OECF’s), and therefore produce different data about the same scene. Correct interpretation of the data requires that it be presented in some sort of standard form. The most rigorous way to do this is to provide the raw data along with the camera color channel OECF’s and spectral sensitiviti...

Representing Spectral data using LabPQR color space in comparison to PCA method

In many applications of color technology such as spectral color reproduction it is of interest to represent the spectral data with lower dimensions than spectral space’s dimensions. It is more than half of a century that Principal Component Analysis PCA method has been applied to find the number of independent basis vectors of spectral dataset and representing spectral reflectance with lower di...

Calculation of the Optimal Colors of Linear Input Devices

A new method for calculating the optimal colors of any linear input device is proposed. The algorithm searches systematically the two types of optimal colors in the R+G+B planes of the device. In this way, the loci of optimal colors associated to the input device can be plotted in its own chromaticity diagram, but also in CIE (human) color spaces. Thus, we can make a comparison in CIE color spa...

Spectral Estimation of Printed Colors Using a Scanner, Conventional Color Filters and applying backpropagation Neural Network

Reconstruction the spectral data of color samples using conventional color devices such as a digital camera or scanner is always of interest. Nowadays, multispectral imaging has introduced a feasible method to estimate the spectral reflectance of the images utilizing more than three-channel imaging. The goal of this study is to spectrally characterize a color scanner using a set of conventional...
